Our Story

For over a century, ELCO has been a fourth-generation, family-owned sawmill rooted in Elmsdale, Nova Scotia. Our team of 50 full-time employees produces premium spruce lumber with a strong focus on safety, training, and long-term stability. Generations of leadership and hands-on experience continue to guide our work and investment in the future.

ELCO’s operations begin in the forest and extend through every stage of lumber production. Supported by private woodlots, Crown licenses, and our own managed lands, we ensure a sustainable wood supply while combining responsible forest management with efficient sawmill processes.
